💻 Information & Digital Inclusion

Connecting Refugees with Disabilities Through Information, Technology, and Digital Innovation

Introduction

TESFA Refugees with Disabilities Association believes that access to information and digital technology is a fundamental right and an essential driver of education, employment, communication, innovation, and social inclusion. In today’s digital world, technology opens doors to learning, economic opportunities, healthcare, civic participation, and global connectivity.

Unfortunately, many refugees with disabilities remain digitally excluded due to poverty, inaccessible technology, limited internet access, inadequate digital skills, language barriers, and lack of accessible information.

The Information & Digital Inclusion Program seeks to bridge the digital divide by ensuring that refugees with disabilities have equal access to information, digital tools, assistive technologies, and online opportunities. The programme promotes digital literacy, accessible communication, information sharing, innovation, and technology-based solutions that empower individuals to participate fully in society.

TESFA works with governments, technology companies, educational institutions, humanitarian organizations, and development partners to promote inclusive digital transformation and ensure that no refugee with a disability is left behind in the digital age.

Background

Technology has transformed the way people learn, communicate, work, access healthcare, and participate in society. However, millions of refugees with disabilities continue to face digital exclusion because of inaccessible technologies, lack of affordable devices, limited digital skills, and poor internet connectivity.

The COVID-19 pandemic further demonstrated the importance of digital inclusion as education, employment, healthcare, and social interaction increasingly moved online.

TESFA recognizes that digital inclusion is no longer a luxury but a necessity for personal development, economic participation, and social inclusion. Through this programme, we help refugees with disabilities gain the digital knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed in an increasingly connected world.
