Strategic Partnership Announcement

TESFA Refugees with Disabilities Association is pleased to announce the signing of a Strategic Partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Her Excellency Consultancy Limited (HEC), alongside a One-Year International Partnership, Resource Mobilisation & Institutional Development Plan (September 2026–August 2027).

This partnership aims to strengthen TESFA’s international partnerships, institutional development, resource mobilization, and global visibility, while advancing sustainable solutions for refugees with disabilities.

Together, we look forward to building stronger partnerships and creating greater impact.
TESFA Weekly Highlights (August 28 – September 5, 2026)

This week, TESFA Refugees with Disabilities Association continued strengthening partnerships, supporting vulnerable members, and building capacity.

🤝 Partnership: We had a productive discussion with Kepler Ethiopia on possible cooperation in higher education, training, and scholarship opportunities for refugees with disabilities.

🧺 Humanitarian Support: Following an official request from JRS Ethiopia–AAURP, TESFA referred 20 highly vulnerable members who received essential support, including rice, cooking oil, and flour.

📚 Capacity Building: Four TESFA representatives—three Board Members and one Board Supporting Staff—participated in a three-day UNHCR and BoWSA capacity-building training.

📚 Building Capacity for Sustainable Impact

TESFA Refugees with Disabilities Association is committed to continuously strengthening its institutional capacity, knowledge, skills, and partnerships to advance sustainable and inclusive programmes for refugees with disabilities.

During August 2026, TESFA representatives participated in two important capacity-building opportunities: the Grant Writing and Resource Mobilization Training, which strengthened skills in competitive proposal development, partnership building, donor engagement, and resource mobilization; and a UNHCR training on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Prevention, Protection and Referral Pathways, which enhanced participants’ understanding of violence prevention, survivor-centered support, confidentiality, protection, and appropriate referral mechanisms.

Through these learning opportunities, TESFA’s professional volunteer team continues to strengthen its ability to develop quality programmes, mobilize sustainable resources, build strategic partnerships, and promote safer, more inclusive, and protective environments for refugees with disabilities and the wider community.

TESFA sincerely appreciates ReDSS and UNHCR for providing these valuable learning and capacity-building opportunities. We look forward to applying the knowledge gained, strengthening collaboration with partners, and continuing to advance the rights, dignity, inclusion, and empowerment of refugees with disabilities in Ethiopia.

🤝 Stronger Capacity. Stronger Partnerships. Greater Impact.
